2. About the client: Elfeya Cosmetics

To provide the right technological solution, we first had to understand the essence of the brand. Elfeya Cosmetics offers 100% natural and certified organic cosmetics for the whole body, created for every member of the family - with specialized lines for babies (0+), pregnant women, teenagers, mature women, as well as a special line for pets. Their philosophy combines the power of nature with scientific innovation through максимально чисти formulas based on ingredients, without artificial preservatives, fragrances, and colorants.

The main distinguishing feature of the brand is that its formulas are based on real clinical studies conducted by the company - an approach that is rare both on the Bulgarian and international markets.

3. The challenge

Scaling B2C sales and focusing on the private label business

The business model of Elfeya Cosmetics combines direct-to-consumer sales (B2C) with the development of a private label direction (manufacturing cosmetics for other brands). The challenge for Stenik was to create an architecture that:

  • Serves end customers with a flawless user interface (UX) and speed.
  • Clearly communicates the company’s private label expertise and generates B2B inquiries.
  • Provides flexible international positioning through a unified domain, but with a personalized and localized experience for both the Bulgarian and international markets.

The project aims to create a digital space that not only sells products but also tells the brand’s story, balancing between B2C sales and professional presentation of the company’s manufacturing capabilities.
The modern eCommerce environment requires speed, especially in the beauty industry, saturated with competition. For a growing brand like Elfeya Cosmetics, it was critical to have a platform that allows:

  • Instant reaction to market changes.
  • Scalability without heavy infrastructure: A need for an eCommerce solution that grows with the business without requiring huge initial investments in servers and maintenance.
  • Flawless visual presentation: Cosmetics are an experience. The platform had to recreate light textures and a sense of luxury and nature, combining beautiful design with excellent loading speed.

4. The solution: Shopify & Stenik

Shopify, intelligent localization and conversion boosters

Our certified team implemented a комплексно solution based on Shopify, using the platform’s flexibility to achieve Elfeya’s business goals:

International expansion with a single domain (Geolocation & multi-currency)

To facilitate global brand management, we consolidated traffic under one main domain - elfeya.com.

  • Through integration of a specialized Shopify geolocation app, the system automatically detects the user’s IP address and directs them to the appropriate language version (elfeya.com/bg for Bulgaria and elfeya.com for the rest of the world).
  • We set a base currency in Euro (EUR), and for the Bulgarian market implemented dual price display (in EUR and BGN), ensuring a smooth transition for local users.

Strategic focus on Private Label

We highlighted this section as a strong accent in the main navigation and on key areas of the homepage. We created a specialized informational hub describing the “idea to label” process, emphasizing the company’s production advantages (over 80 ready-made formulas and COSMOS ORGANIC certification) and serving as a primary channel for generating B2B inquiries through targeted contact forms.

Catalog structure, AOV Engine and commercial tools

  • Three types of collection organization: To address different search behaviors, ensure seamless user experience, and stimulate growth in average order value (AOV), we built three parallel navigation types in the catalog:

    - Standard: Based on the main purpose of the product (face care, body care, etc.).
    - By skin type and specific need: For users looking for solutions to a specific problem.
    - By key ingredients: Specifically created for a more informed audience that chooses cosmetics based on active ingredients (e.g. peptides, hyaluronic acid).

  • AOV Engine and intelligent product recommendations: We used Shopify’s full potential for cross-sell by integrating two types of product recommendations into product detail pages:

    - Related Products: offering similar or alternative items.
    - Complementary Products: Carefully selected products that best combine with the viewed item for optimal results. Presented in a “Suitable combinations” section, they not only increase cart value but also educate the customer on proper skincare routines.

  • Flexible collections: We organized products into dynamic collections (e.g. "for sensitive skin", "anti-aging"), allowing a single product to appear in multiple relevant categories.
  • Custom Bundle Upsell: We enhanced the experience with a custom functionality to boost sales. If the viewed item is part of a promotional bundle, this is communicated through a clear visual highlight. The user is encouraged to purchase the full bundle with an attractive discount of up to 30%, making it a powerful upsell tool that effectively increases cart value.
  • Sales psychology and dynamic free shipping (AOV Booster): We developed logic that applies different free shipping thresholds depending on the user’s region (with specific conditions for Bulgaria, EU zone, and the rest of the world). This threshold is communicated to the user at three key stages:

    - Announcement bar: Dynamic message in the site header.
    - Cart and mini cart: Visual indicator (progress bar) updated in real time showing the exact amount remaining to reach free shipping.
    - Checkout: Automatic calculation of shipping rates based on final region and order value.

UX & UI design

We focused on intuitive navigation that naturally highlights the brand’s strongest aspects - 100% natural composition, organic products, and clinical testing behind them. The visual experience is elevated through uncompromising product photography and graphic assets.

The color palette is based on the brand’s signature green, complemented with modern color accents. We relied on clean presentation with a consistent background for product images, reinforcing a premium and consistent feel.

On listing pages, we implemented a rollover (hover) effect with image switching, making product browsing more interactive and engaging, stimulating user interest.

Product pages that build trust

The product page is the key moment for purchase decisions. That’s why we emphasized clearly communicated value and trust-building. Key benefits are highlighted at the top, and active ingredients are presented with focus on their effect and results. We emphasized clean beauty characteristics and realistic long-term results. The content is structured into easy-to-scan sections with clear instructions, making it easier for users and supporting purchasing decisions.

Strong social proof (Social Proof) and User-generated content (UGC)

  • To turn satisfied customers into brand ambassadors, we enhanced the standard review system (with admin approval): users who purchased a product and leave a review with a photo automatically receive a 15% discount for their next purchase. This method not only gathers valuable feedback and authentic visuals but also directly increases repeat purchase rates (Customer Retention).
  • Real results from real users: To demonstrate product effectiveness, we developed a fully custom “Results” section. It allows users to upload before-and-after photos, video materials, and their own descriptions of results. Since many of Elfeya’s formulas are backed by real clinical studies, this specialized block enables the brand to present test data with real people, building greater user trust.

Cosmetic routines system

As added value to the user experience, we developed a custom functionality - a Cosmetic Routines System. It allows administrators to create multi-step routines including different products to achieve a specific effect (e.g. Age Perfection routine). When a product is part of such a routine, it is automatically visualized on its product detail page.

Additional technological integrations

To ensure smooth business operations, we configured Shopify Inbox App for direct online customer chat and implemented a robust GDPR solution via Consent Mo App for managing cookies and consents.

5. Conclusion

As a certified Shopify Partner, our team undertook the implementation of a large-scale international online store on the Shopify platform for the brand Elfeya Cosmetics. We successfully combined our extensive experience with Magento and our proven methodology for solving complex eCommerce cases with the capabilities of one of the most successful SaaS platforms in the world.
